Yes, I’m one of those bad mothers that eats their children’s candy – just the chocolate. Please don’t tell them! If I am out of chocolate and they have ever so much….I eat it when they aren’t looking. I do! My husband does NOT; and semi-frowns at me when I do. (So, I sneak it when he’s gone.) He knows I do and will use it as leverage in other conversations…”well, I’m not the one that eats the kids candy…” I so regret having confessed to him. I thought he might be sympathetic to my plight; or go out and buy me some chocolate so that I wouldn’t eat the kid’s chocolate. Alas, he can resist the temptation that I constantly fall prey to.
I have tons of reasons…First, I’m already grown and my body is already going bad; but the children need to eat as healthy as possible. ….If I take one out of each of their stashes they won’t notice….I need it more than they do (to stay sane)….If it makes me happy, they will be happier….If they are 2 or younger they never figure it out anyways unless I’m sloppy and get caught eating it.
Also in my defense – I have lived my whole life within half an hour of four (4!) factories that make chocolate. How could I not be a chocoholic!?
I once went three whole days without chocolate! Count ‘em 1 – 2 – 3! Yup! I did it! Never again. That was my limit and the 3 days felt like 3 years to me.
WARNING: I don’t think this will work with older children. Only works with children under age 5.

Woohoo!! Guess I’m the first to leave you a comment.

Thanks for visiting my blog and Congratulations on your new one! I enjoyed reading down through your first few posts.
I’ll have to remember these tricks for whenever Caleb starts getting chocolate. My husband is usually the one who sneaks food/snacks, though, so he probably already has this figured out and just never told me!
Of course, he blames the cat, and is a terrible liar, so I always know where the rest of my dessert has gone, LOL!
I know I’m almost a year late in commenting on this but when I started reading your blog I didn’t start from the beginning so I missed some posts. I just have to say that I’m glad I’m not the only one who eat my children’s chocolate. The other day my 4 year old saw the paper from some chocolate I had eaten and she questioned me about it. I just smiled at her. Haha. Busted!
