Joey’s ClipTwo Days ago my husband gave our 4 year old son a metal clip to play with.  Daddy has one that he uses to hold a couple key rings together and our son asked for one.  Well, after Daddy found an old clip that could be played with the boy and the clip were inseparable.  Anything that could be connected was and if it couldn’t he at least tried once [and "do NOT put that clip on your sister, again"].

This morning he couldn’t find his clip.  “Mommy, do you know where my clip is?” [I guess it's part of the Mommy requirement to know where all toys are at all times.]  I told him that I thought he lost it in the couch.  So he got the yardstick and checked under and around the couch, but I knew it was down in the couch.

“Mommy, would you please get it out?”  Well, I stuck my hand down in there once and promptly removed it as I felt the dust, dirt, and who knows what that had accumulated; and not only from us - we got the couch used.  I refrained from saying “Yuck!” out loud because in the future I would like my son to stick his hand down in there by himself to get any of his toys that the couch ate.

Daddy rescued the clip in the evening.  My brave husband calmly stuck his bare hands down in the dark regions between the cushion and the back of the couch and not only pulled out the clip, but anything else that was down in there - an army man, a pen, a rubber lizard…  My courageous husband even checked the love seat.  My Hero!

Soon after, I took the vacuum hose and stuffed it down in there as far as I could! =-)

After the kids and I cleaned up and vacuumed the Living Room Floor we put on our yodeling cowboy music [Round 'em up Rover, Head 'em out Roy. It's round up time on the station. with a yodel-ee-o-lay-oo...] and did a celebration dance.  Well, more like spinning, jumping, and kicking than dancing, but they enjoy it.
