Callapidder Days is hosting a fall reading fest through December 21st. While I don’t need any motivation to read; I do need some motivation to “step away from the fiction.” Click on the graphic to the left to join in with us.
I thought about adding some books that I will read to the children, but that changes by the minute. We’ll go to the library and I’ll look for specific books, but the kids will pull all kinds so we will be reading lots of different things. I try to read to my children about 20 minutes a day.
So here is my list (still with some fiction):
The Silent Storm by Brown and Crone(Anne Sullivan’s childhood)Desert Star by Linda Chaikin(already read the first one)Hansi The Girl Who Left the Swastikaby Maria HirschmannEver After by Karen Kingsbury(another sequel)‘Tis Herself by Maureen O’Hara(autobiography)Rememberedby Tamera Alexander (comes after Rekindled & Revealed which I really liked)A New Day by Anita Bryant(I read her earlier autobiography so I’m curious.)Cassidy by Lori Wick(one of my favorite authors)Stars of the Twilight by Mada Scott(letters from her husband Lt. Col. C.L. Scott, an Air Force Bomber Pilot)Deadly Decore Mysteries by Ginny Aiken(Design on a Crime, Decorating Schemes, Interior Motives) Cozy mysteries- Janette Oke A Heart for the Prairie by Laurel Oke Logan
Fancy Pantsby Cathy Marie Hake new in October- The New Testament by the Lord Jesus Christ KJV 1611
Northanger Abbeyby Jane AustenThe Measure of a Ladyby Deanne Gist- The Martha Rules by Martha Stewart 10 essentials for achieving success as you start, build, or manage a business
Freedom’s Hopeby Dianna Crawford (#2 in The Reardon Brothers Series)

Jendi ~ This is my first time here visiting your little spot on the web:o). I’ve seen you comment on Dear Abbi and The View From My Fishbowl, so I figured I would come for a visit:o). I agree with you about not needing motivation to read a book; the problem for me is actually stopping!

I am also a big reader. I am always reading something. Would love to try something new, right now I read only mystery/Dean Koontz type stuff.

I have similar problems with not branching out of fiction reading. I know there are a ton of good books out there (that AREN’T fiction), but it’s hard for me to pick them up as I’m afraid I won’t like them.
All right, I am always looking for new books to read, so count me in!
Thanks, Jendi!

I had to laugh about “step away from the fiction” — I’m the same way! I love cozy mysteries, so I’ll have to check out the Deadly Decor series. And it’s very nice of you to be having some giveaways — anyone who shares their love of reading with others gets an A in my book. Thanks for joining the challenge!

Life is so busy this fall–mostly being a chauffeur–but still…that I gave in an have mostly fiction I can read while waiting.
I should have had a list for read alouds for the boys and I, but I fell down on that job.
You have an interesting & intriguing mix. I will be pilfering some of those to add to my future reads.
Have a great weekend!

I’m with you, don’t need motivation to read, but would like to read more non-fiction! I so loved Even Now and Ever After by Karen, they are my favorite of her books, if it is possible to pick favorites. Happy Reading.
