Finding Things

Yesterday I found two lost things!  Yea!  Rejoice with me for I have found that which was lost!  Woo-hoo!

Now that I got that out of my system…

The first item was my clip for my cell phone.  I have a pink case on the phone, but when I put it in my purse I take the clip off so it’s not so bulky.  Well, I could not remember where I put the clip.

See, I have this bad habit of putting things someplace safe [translated - safe from kids] then I can’t remember where I put them!  It’s quite frustrating.

So the clip turned up in the zipper pocket of the diaper bag.

The other item was my iPod nano.  This I sorely missed.  I had tried to train myself to always put it in one of two specific places; but this time I put it an even safer place.  Yoy!

The weird thing was that I remembered taking the iPod on a trip to play in the car.  [so much nicer than taking a pile of cd's!]  I remembered carrying it back in the house late at night; I remembered that I did not put it in a pocket or bag; I carried it in to the house in my hand.  Then my mind just stopped remembering.

I knew I was tired that night so I searched all the places where I had dumped things down, plus the usual places I stick things [Fly Lady calls them hot spots - you know, the places that collect all kinds of paper, broken toys, coupons that need cut, papers that need filed, mail to be read...].  No luck.  I knew it was in the house somewhere.  To bad I couldn’t call it like a cell phone.

I found it last night.  In our headboard.  There is a little cupboard where I have matches for the candle, and where I stick my earrings when I’m too lazy to get out of bed and go to my dresser.   Safe inside the cupboard lay the iPod, right where it had been for the past week and a half.  I was so-o happy!

Today I updated it, charged it, listened to one cd; and now my husband has it.  Lost in a different way.  :)

I love when I find things that were previously lost! Although, it’s usually something my hubby puts in what he considers a “special” place (which really translates into — “I don’t feel like putting it away in the proper place, so I just need to remember that I put it in this spot”) Funny, he can never remember where his new special places are, but I always seem to know where he puts his items (i.e. wallet, keys, etc)… I always tell him that’s why I’m the wife, and he’s not. (well, among other reasons, LOL)

Losing things is my biggest pet peeve. Or perhaps searching for the lost thing is the pet peeve. :)
    Glad you found your things!
