Saturday Stuff

It’s quiet here for the moment.  I would shout Hallelujah, but that would make too much noise.  Everyone is resting.  The 3 year old is not sleeping yet.  She will lay for 2 hours and not sleep!  So exasperating.  Today I really threatened her and told her that she needs to lay with her eyes closed so she goes to sleep.  She replied, “I have to be careful of my eyes.  I can’t keep them closed.”  Aargh!

I went to the thrift shop today with all 3 kids.  Not a great idea. at all.  My Mother-in-law met us there and she chased after my 1 year old most of the time - which was a huge help.

The problem with taking the 3 kids is that I always seem to come home with more things than if they weren’t with me.

I spent a whole $15.00 today.  I know, shocking isn’t it.

I was able to get 2 jumpers for me, a lamp, a kid’s bike helmet, 2 pairs of earmuffs, a new bag to use for a diaper bag, a small storage container, some toys, and books.

More books!  Is there a book lovers anonymous?  It’s not just books for me, but lots of kids books.  My house is overflowing with books!  My poor husband kindly puts up with books everywhere.  I just couldn’t resist that crate of kids books for 2 cents each. Two cents each!  They are in nice shape too.

Tonight we are off to have fellowship with some church friends.  We haven’t gotten together just for fun in months and it will be fun for my family.

Last night I was thinking that we should fellowship even when it isn’t our favorite thing or the perfect timing for my family.  Two reasons:  1. God wants us to have good, Godly fellowship.  2.  It’s not always for us; it’s for the other members as well.

Have a great weekend!

It sounds like you found some great deals at the thrift shop. I like to visit the one in our town, but my kiddos always want to look with their hands instead of their eyes. ;)

Over the past couple of weeks the hubby and I have been trying to destress my life a bit (while trying desperately to cut spending- an oxymoron, I know. LOL!). I now go shopping alone or with just one child as a special time together. I spend less, stress less (keeping them in line- my kids aren’t bad but they are kids) and finish faster. In an effort to cut our spending I will need to visit the local thrift shop for our children’s needs for winter. Why do the little buggers keep growing? Also, just yesterday my youngest layed down on her sister’s bed and covered up with a blanket. I asked her if she was going to take a nap. She nodded and said, “With my eyes open.” I also agree with your comment on fellowship. There will probably never be a “perfect” time so just do it. I’m learning to deal with… “My house doesn’t have to be perfect… just go or just have people over anyway.” As you can see your post hit issues I am dealing with too.
