Telepathy, Genius, or Rapport?

My husband leads the congregational singing for one of the church services each week. I’m usually at the piano, watching him. As the months pass I can interpret his looks better. I think I know what he is trying to convey and I ask him afterwards to see if our thoughts matched. Is the hymn too fast? too slow? too hard?

When he started leading songs he was very nervous and I would smile and nod when he did a good job. I would try to just keep a deadpan face and not frown too much when I thought he was doing a lousy job. He, of course, will look over at me when I hit a sour note.

This past Sunday I brazenly winked at him.

I think that over the years our telepathy ability has intensified. I don’t mean for real as much as the ability to communicate without words. The children seem to have a BIG factor in making us do this more. We can look at each other now and say the same thing. Well, most of the time anyway. We still throw each other for a loop every now and then.

I’m glad for it and enjoy it. It makes me think that we are becoming more “one flesh” every day.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

Or it could just be that “great minds think alike.”
