This song has been going through my head lately. So I decided to share it.
I’ve heard and read many times that love is a choice; and I think that thankfulness is an even bigger choice. Bill Gates with all his wealth could be very unthankful; and the people that survived New Orleans with nothing but what they carried could be thankful.
Plenty To Be Thankful For
I’ve got plenty to be thankful for.
I haven’t got
A great big yacht
To sail from shore to shore.
Still I’ve got plenty to be thankful for.
I’ve got plenty to be thankful for.
No private car,
No caviar,
No carpet on my floor.
Still I’ve got plenty to be thankful for.
I’ve got eyes to see with,
Ears to hear with,
Arms to hug with,
Lips to kiss with,
Someone to adore.
How could anybody ask for more?
My needs are small,
I buy them all
At the five and ten cent store.
Oh, I’ve got plenty to be thankful for.

Sung by Bing Crosby in the movie Holiday Inn.
You can listen to it at Rhapsody Online but you might have to download the player.

You’re so right, Jendi! Holiday Inn is one of my favorite movies, too.
