Today is the day to wrap up the Fall into Reading List. I’m sad and glad at the same time. Cllick on the graphic to see the list of participants who finished up today.
- The Silent Storm by Brown and Crone (Anne Sullivan’s childhood) Written on a simpler level, it was a quick and easy read.
- Desert Star by Linda Chaikin (already read the first one) Have to say that this one did not leave much of an impression on me.
- Hansi The Girl Who Left the Swastika by Maria Hirschmann. This one was interesting to me. She was a Polish girl that was a Nazi Youth, and escaped to Germany when the Russians took over Poland. She was saved after the war.
- Ever After by Karen Kingsbury (another sequel). I cried and cried! It was definitely a true to life story that I could hardly put down.
- ‘Tis Herself by Maureen O’Hara (autobiography). About what I expected. It was just her point of view so some of the things made me wonder. . .
- Remembered by Tamera Alexander (comes after Rekindled & Revealed which I really liked). It was good, but I hope that she stops with three in this series.
- A New Day by Anita Bryant (I read her earlier autobiography so I’m curious.) Only finished this one because it was on my list. I did skim read a lot of it.
- Cassidy by Lori Wick (one of my favorite authors). I still like Lori Wick. I can definitely tell when she’s writing for money. She’s just not as captivating as she used to be; or maybe it’s my taste that’s changing.
- Stars of the Twilight by Mada Scott (letters from her husband Lt. Col. C.L. Scott, an Air Force Bomber Pilot). He flew some of the first airplanes. I knew that he died in the war so it was bittersweet. One interesting thing was during their engagement when she was a teacher, he would buzz over her school in an airplane. All the students would run outside to wave at him. Quite different from today!
- Deadly Decore Mysteries by Ginny Aiken (Design on a Crime, Decorating Schemes, Interior Motives) Cozy mysteries. Funny, easy to read, pleasant.
- Janette Oke A Heart for the Prairie by Laurel Oke Logan. I just couldn’t get this one finished. Tried and tried.
- Fancy Pants by Cathy Marie Hake new in October. I really liked this one. Somewhat unbelievable, but it’s a fiction book! I might have to buy this one - used, of course.
- The New Testament by the Lord Jesus Christ KJV 1611. I made it through I Corinthians. I feel somewhat guilty because of that. The only excuse I have is that I like to take my time, read, and think about the words so I can’t read it as fast.
- Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. I’m glad I read it, but I’m not keeping that book.
- The Measure of a Lady by Deanne Gist. Interesting for sure, but there’s something with Deanne Gist that just doesn’t mesh with me.
- The Martha Rules by Martha Stewart 10 essentials for achieving success as you start, build, or manage a business. Part way through - I will probably finish this one. It makes me want to think, create, market, and sell!
- Freedom’s Hope by Dianna Crawford (#2 in The Reardon Brothers Series) I’m really liking this series so far. Set in the pioneer days. The Reardon Brother’s have a valley that they are poplulating. # 3 is on my shelf to be read. I like the way that the characters witness to each other.
- True Light by Terri Blackstock. (#3 of the Restoration series) For some reason I find this series to be fascinating. A Pulsar knocked out all electronics and they have to change their whole lifestyle.
This was the first time that I made an actual reading list. Posting made me stick to the list more so I did read some non-fiction. It was fun, but I don’t think I will do another list right now.
I will post the winner of the third book later today.

Ohhh… I think I might have to take a look at a couple of those on the list. I have been to the library twice and just couldn’t find anything I wanted to spend time reading. I might try and find the Deadly Decore series, the Restoration series and the Martha Stewart book. Thanks for the ideas.
