The Cold Didn’t Come Soon Enough

I know that some people liked the warm weather.  While I have to admit it was somewhat pleasant, as my children dragged mud through the house; I could just hear those germs breeding and feel them sneaking up on me.

Sure enough, all three of my children got sick.  Actually 3/4 of the 3-5 year Sunday School Class is sick.  My husband and his/our friend were commiserating on the phone about having a sick one year old.

It’s a whopper of a flu this time.  They all threw up plus the girls had to deal with diarrhea.  Regretfully we even managed to pass it to their grandparents.

Praise the Lord that the weather turned cold again.  Freeze those germs!  Oh yea.

I took advantage of the cold, clear weather and hung the sheets on the line.  [I had what felt like a bazillion loads of laundry to do.]  As I snuck out the back door I deeply inhaled each and every time.  I wanted to make sure that nice cold air got way down in my lungs and wiped out any stuff I breathed in from all those pukey sheets and diapers.

On the good side our grocery bill will be way down this week.

What am I blaming the sickness on?  That warm weather, for sure.

The Warm Weather was an innocent bystander. It is innocent in this matter.

    Abbi,
I have to agree with Jendi… we too caught sickness over the too warm for winter weather. Thankfully for us it was just colds- stuffy/runny noses, sore throats etc.- it was not flu. My DH just had to go fishing because of all the rain and warm weather. (”The fish will be biting!”) I’m sure that standing in a cold river, while it rained on him lowered his defenses and he brought a cold back from his work a couple of days later. It immediately spread to the rest of us. Okay, you could argue it was the DH who made the choices and not the weather. But the weather was tauntingly warm. Hold tight Jendi… this too shall pass.

I hear ya!! We all had it here too!! I was up all night on Wed because I had 2 puking all night long!! Hubby is just getting over it - hopefully he still have a couple days of work before a break and my mom is getting over it too(kids wanted to share with Mimi I guess!!) I certainly hope this cold weather kills the germs and we don’t have to go thru round 2 — Round 1 was bad enough!! I hope everyone gets better there — I miss you guys!!
