I’m still fighting the cold/flu virus.  It’s weird how much it affects my ability to think up great posts.  Most would say that I never had that ability in the first place.  I totally agree.

I won’t go into the details, but that virus and I have been battling since Friday.  Sunday was my weakest day, but I rallied my defenses and re-launched my attack.  I’m back to just cold symptoms now.  Still no fun.

Yesterday I was wondering if I should be wearing a doctor’s mask.  Not to protect me, but to protect my kids.  Maybe gloves and a face shield…

“Mommy, I hit my head.  Please make it better.”  Sniffle, sniffle.  I kiss the boo-boo and run for another tissue.

“Would you read me this book?”  “Okay.”  Cough, Hack, Wheeze.  “One day…”  Then run for a tissue and another hand washing.

“What’s for lunch?”  “Here’s your hot dog.”  Aa-choo.  Eyes are watering.  Run for tissue, wash hands, come back, cut food, sniffle, sniffle…

Maybe their immunity is built up because they had it right before me.  I pray it’s so.

P.S. Are you wondering why I was running for tissues?  I’m keeping the sole remaining tissue box in the bathroom so I can wash my hands right away.  If not, the kids will ask for something and I will get sidetracked.

    Hey, Jen,
I have a couple of big pump bottles of hand sanitizer that I set out when someone is sick. It minimizes the need for those hand-washing runs and it’s easier for the little ones anyway. Since they only come out during an illness, they’re a novelty that is well-used and effective. I’ll be praying that you feel better soon.
