As I sit here and listen to the hum of the washer, the chatter of voices, and the click of the keys I’m wondering over the draw that blogging has on me. One of the first things I thought of this morning was my blog and what I wanted to tweak on it. I haven’t even had my cocoa yet.
Now I don’t only have to rearrange and decorate my house I have to take care of my blog too. I don’t “have” to, you say? Oh yes I do. I knew it before I wrote my first blog post, before I logged in to start a blog, when I first started reading blogs. I knew I would eventually be hooked.
I resisted. I did! So you out there, beware. If you are reading blogs and have a blog list in your favorites you will have your own blog. Maybe not today, but you will someday.
Is it so bad? No, it’s wonderful and worrisome. A relief and a pressure. Just like having kids.

I love this post, Jendi! I often want to feel guilty about the blog, or question why I’m still at this! I have lamented over the fact that sometimes it feels like a chore, and it’s just 1 more thing to do, yet at other times, it feels like one of the few things that keeps me sane!
You put it so well–”it’s wonderful and worrisome…just like having kids.” I hadn’t thought of it that way exactly–makes me think–”yeah, like anything worth having takes a little effort, right?”
By the way, I LOVE the new header–it caught my eye right away. The shot looks so familiar–like I’ve seen it before or something–you know, at my own kitchen table! LOVE IT!
