That’s a Truck of a Different Color

driving smilie PH driving emoticonRecently I told you about how comfortable I am driving our Suburban with its nifty pedal adjuster. My husband’s truck does not have this feature. Last night I drove his truck home.

Oh how I missed the luxury of lumbar!

The quiet was nice. When I say quiet I mean that there were no chattering kids with me.

But the seat… It was a working construction truck before my husband bought it; and he uses it for a work truck. The seat sinks below and behind me so that I end up holding on to the steering wheel for dear life.

It’s hard to look elegant while you are grasping the steering wheel and straining your neck to see over it. Not that I usually look elegant, but it’s a goal that’s out there - way out there.

After he complained, “It’s going to make a mess,” he did move the cumbersome bench seat forward for me. It’s amazing how many things he can store behind his truck seat.

Obviously I don’t drive his truck very often.

The kids think it’s great fun to ride in his truck. It’s a treat for them. For me it’s a mixed blessing.

Did I mention his truck smells like oil and dirt? Well, it does. My husband warned me about that also. “It’s stinky and messy,” he said. Yea, well, so is the 21 month old, but I love her anyways.

This entry made me smile!!! Y’know, my dad was a mechanic for the city government, and I used to despise having to drive in his ’stinky, oily smellin’ truck’………now that he’s gone, how I wish I could be there with him!!!!

I did a Friday Show N Tell this week [I know it's been canceled, but I wanted to show off a prize I won and sent to me by one of our Show N Tell players ---it's Easter themed!! Drop by if you can? I'd love to have you visit. And have a great holiday weekend]

You gotta love it. I’ve been in some stinky farm
trucks and cars, nothings like manure smell when
the weather starts getting warm outside. YUK!!!
I’ll take dirt/grease/oil smell any day. But then I’ll take a ride
any day rather than walking! Have an EGGcelent weekend!
