I wish you quiet things –
Sea gulls on upward wings
That seek the sunlit blue;
And silver moonlight through
A wood when night is new.
I wish you joyful things –
Sweet cello murmurings
Of wind on golden hills
And dawn-bright daffodils
And little meadow rills.
I wish you holy things –
A gloried faith that sings,
An eagerness to share,
And every day a fair
Love-lighted time of prayer.
