I Have a Two Year Old…Again.

I think it would not be good for me to be a professional cake decorator.
I lick my fingers. I can’t stop myself.
I would weigh 3 times as much as I should and never be hungry for good food.

Here’s the cake I made for my youngest’s birthday on Saturday. I’m being honest and refrained from photoshopping the following picture.

You can stop laughing now.

I ran out of the decorator icing I had, and I used all my red food coloring so Elmo has a bleached spot on his chin. [Red food coloring = the terror of every good mother.]
At least my birthday girl liked it. Two year olds are very forgiving. I think when my children are teens I shall buy their cakes, or take some cake decorating lessons.

It’s actually a brownie mix with an extra egg added to make it cake-like.
I could tell you that she likes brownies better than cake. That’s totally true.
Then again I could say that I thought I had a chocolate cake mix, but only had spice and angel food.
Hence the brownie cake.

I think it looks great…even with the bleach spot. I should have hired you to make my soon to be 4 year old’s b-day cake. Is it too late? Can you have it done by tomorrow? lol The poor girl has to settle for a boring, rectangular cake with pink and purple decorations.

    Jendi,
I didn’t notice the color difference until you pointed it out. I think you did great. It looks like it’s supposed to look- Elmo. Later this month I get to create a “flip-flop” cake for Andi’s 10th birthday. We shall see how it goes.

It does look cool! Very creative with the spot cover up. I didn’t really notice it either. It looks like he was supposed to have a dimple or something.

I didn’t notice it either. I would be grateful if a cake I decorated turned out that well. I usually have my mother in law make the cakes.
