Will They Fight or Marry?

My next thing to admit to you is about the hero and heroine of a story: I like when they kind of irritate each other - when they get under each other’s skin and verbally spar. No namby-pamby heroines for me. The two main characters in this book certainly go head to head.

In the first chapter of Twice Loved by Lori Copeland, Willow Madison is journeying to live with her uncle. She drives a wagon full of kerosene barrels as per his request. She gets the whole way to Thunder Ridge, Texas, before having an accident.

The accident causes the saw mill to be burned down to the ground. Plus, Tucker Gray had just finished building the saw mill!

Talk about getting off on the wrong foot!

The town’s people quickly warm up to the young teacher even though she was instrumental in closing down the town’s major employer. Tucker, however… well, that’s what makes the story.

Part way through it seems to drag a little bit, but the story picks up again in the last half.
