Dwelling In Beulah Land

I’ve had the privilege of attending the same church from elementary school till present day.

We have sung “Dwelling in Beulah Land” by C. Austin Miles for many years. [Except we don't sing it as slow as the link plays it.]

As a young person I eagerly anticipated the chorus where the church, mostly the men, would shout, “Praise God!”  right after the phrase “underneath a cloudless sky.”

The sound would resound through the auditorium and echo through the downstairs.

During the later years of high school and newly married life that shout became quieter during the singing.  For a while it was just quietly spoken or left out entirely.

I missed it.

I’m happy to report that the “Praise God!” is back and growing louder.  No embarrassment or sheepish smiles.  Just exuberant words heard above the music.

Praise God!
