Psst! A Secret to Scheduling Success! by Cindy Rushton

I, like her, don’t do well with a minute by minute schedule.  It just makes me frustrated and cranky.  I know you can hardly believe that I ever get cranky.  Ha-ha-ha.

One thing she said really grabbed my attention.

One of the toughest things I ever did was develop routines in my home. However, one of the most rewarding things that I ever did was develop routines in my home.

I kind of let my routines drop for a week, and it has had more repurcussions than I expected.  So today I’m tweaking them and going to work on the tough job of getting them going again.

Do you have a routine?  Minute-by-minute, day-by-day, or weekly?

I would like to have a routine. I have a weekly housekeeping schedule all drawn up & color coordinated on my fridge… and I have yet to stick to it. I just can’t seem to put my plans in motion.

I’m with Jeni. I have routines but don’t stick to them. =) I tend to fly by the seat of my pants which is okay since it’s only hubby and me. I imagine it would be different if we had kids.

I agree with that quote…very tough to implement…but very rewarding. We have an unwritten routine since school started…the most “groovy” (as in…”in a groove”) routine we’ve ever had. And it’s working nicely. The only thing that is suffering is my mental health. :) My brain feels liquid by the time the kids go down for “quiet time.”
