Help! The Yard Sales Are Calling Me!

Thanks for visiting! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed using the feedburner link to the right.

I had determined to not shop at yard sales this summer.  Most of our stuff is packed away since we are living in a temporary place and we don’t need any more stuff to move, and pack, and clean, etc.

Last Saturday I caved (with the help of my man) and we went to yard sales.  All 5 of us.  [Taking one's husband and children to yard sales is a whole other story!]

The weather was so-o nice and there was a yard sale right at the end of our road.  Once we went to that one we realized there was another just a little ways down the road…and so it went.

I bought this doll for 50 cents, but managed to resist any big purchases.  Maybe it was the fact that I only had the change jar along.  Tends to curb big spending.

My husband found treasure in a cardboard box of old tools, and my kids were offered free little plastic toys that I will throw out in about a week.

Tomorrow is a major, MAJOR yard sale day in my town.  Two-hundred houses in a nearby development, plus more…

My husband has already mentioned about driving me around.

I can’t resist much longer…the force is too strong…

Somebody stop me - or send me some money.

Oh please do go!!! I haven’t been to a yardsale (or a second hand store for that matter) in ages, so I at least want someone else to have some fun:o).

Smart idea of taking just change… then you can’t get cornered into taking a big item you “might” need! It’s too late in the season to sell it at your own yard sale when you come to find out that you *don’t* need it:o).

Sorry, no money to send, but kudos to you for resisting any (big) impulse buys! :o)

Oh, I sympathize with you! That sounds so hard. I love yard sales. I’ve found the best way to not spend too much is to do like you, and only take a little change or small amount of money and only spend that. It’s kind of fun to see what you can get for a couple dollars. :)

I know what you mean. I literally passed 25 or so signs all withing a 5 mile stretch on Saturday on my way to a photo shoot. I stopped at one on the way home just because they had some stuff that would be great props - though way too expensive - but made myself keep driving past the others. Probably a good think I was only running on a few hours of sleep from the night before or I would have had energy to go to all of them.
