Now We’re Quiet As Can Be…

Because it’s story time you see!

On Thursdays we start school a bit early to make sure we are done by lunch.

Lunch is right at 12 before we head off to the library for story time at 1:00.

From my view it’s a free activity that they love, educational, and I get to pick books for me too.

From their view it’s fun, friends, and an all around fantastic time.  No exaggeration.  They really think it’s a great time.

We just go to our local library.  It may not be as big or as fancy as some near here, but it’s less mileage, I’m comfortable with it, I don’t have to register the kids, and the workers and I are on first name basis.

The library building was a fire house years ago.  See the big window in the front?  That’s where the horses would come out pulling the fire truck (wagon ?).

I highly recommend checking out your local library for story times and events.

How ’bout you?  Do you go to the library a lot?

We love story time at our library! They recently switched from just stories to actual mini-plays, where they have an actor or an actress doing a one hour fancy story time. It costs money now, but only about $3 per kid, so we still go and enjoy that when we can.

Wow! I might have to sit and watch if ours had mini-plays. F-a-n-cy!

    That library is BEAUTIFUL!

You’re right…an experience like that is free and priceless!

Thanks Kaye! I think the head librarian wishes for a new building with more room, but this one is historic.

We go to the library once a week…for story time. You already know that though. :) My 4 yr. old asks to go to the library all the time. I don’t have the patience for that though. At least with story time they are occupied for a little while.

I also know that you missed the first two weeks. LOL. My kids really missed your kids. They only saw them 3 or 4 other times those weeks.

Though we’re too old for story time now (sob!), we still go to the library all the time. I wish my local branch offered more for kids like mine who find themselves in a peculiar in-between stage (too old for storytime, not quite old enough for book clubs).

I think I’ll cry too when mine are too old for story time!

Awww. I totally miss that library. The libraries down here may be bigger, but they’re so impersonal!

It also has the childhood memory factor – when we first fell in love with books.

I love your library’s building! Would make great locations for photo shoots =D I was going to the library frequently to check out the Harry Potter series, but have so many books at home to read that I haven’t been in a while…

I didn’t even think about a photo shoot! You are good.
