Like You Mommy

Sometimes it’s scary when my children want to be like me.

“When I grow up I want to do/be ________________ like you Mommy.”

I usually just smile at them, but inside I’m thinking how I can be a better person.  I think of all the better people my child could try to be like.

Sometimes it’s physical characteristics that aren’t given by choice.

 ”Mommy, when I grow up can I have contacts/glasses?”

“Oh dear, I hope you don’t have to.”
