Our Famous Goose

So what if it was only the small local paper. Our formerly lonely goose, Gus, got his picture in the paper.

And he is NOT a swan.  Just because a water fowl is white does not make it a swan!

Ooops! Can we say embarrassing retraction. Once when I was ten, my parents and I took a southern California spring break vacation. One stop was at Mission San Juan Capistrano, famous for its swallows. My mom kept looking at all the birds saying “Look at all the swallows!” My Dad and I kept looking at each other and I’m thinking, “I’m only ten but these birds sure look like pigeons.” They were! It’s thirty years later and my Dad and I still rib my mother over that one. We’ll be out somewhere and see a pigeon and say, “Look! A swallow.” My poor Mom will never live it down.

LOL! Your poor Mom. In high school I knew a girl that went to Niagara Falls and took a picture of the “Canadian pigeons.” They beat her back to the American side.
