My 4 year old daughter is obsessed with babies. When I told her that her best friend’s mommy has a baby in her belly she stared at the expecting mommy for a whole church service. She wanted to know when she could have a baby so I told her that she had to grow up and get married first. Now she is eagerly awaiting the day.

The other day at lunch she was talking to my 2 year old.
“You’ll go on the potty and wear underwear. Then you’ll grow up some more and get married. After you get married you’ll get a baby in your belly.”
The 2 year old pulled up her shirt and looked at her belly.
“Not inside your shirt. Inside your skin. You’ll have a baby.”
“uh-huh” agreed the 2 year old.
Guess all that other stuff in the middle just whizzes by.

My 2 1/2 year old sort-of understands that there’s a baby in Mommy’s belly…but she also thinks there’s a baby in HER belly!

I remember my daughter checking her belly every day and telling me it was getting as big as mine. LOL
This is so cute! That’s what make kids at that age so fun, their ignorance (not a bad thing) and their innocence. My kids are 5 and almost 2, so we get a lot of these great stories around our house too.

Thanks! This is one way I can remember some of the things they said.
Awwwwww. I love hearing little kids talk to each other, sometimes only they seem to be able to understand each other, but this was just so cute. If only it was that simple!

Kids are so lovable and cute. I can’t stop laughing to myself if I sees my kid doing such things or playing those games that portrays them as an adult.
That is adorable.
So cute.
