An Open Letter to People Who Write Open Letters

Dear People Who Write Open Letters,

What is the point?  If you really want the addressee to know something why don’t you write to them?  

Isn’t that what blogs are – open journals/letters?  If it’s really not open for everybody to read you wouldn’t have posted it, right?

I do understand that it gives you another format to be funny on your blog.  But isn’t it more fun to feel like you’re reading somebody else’s letter?  Making it open spoils the whole naughty feeling.
