While I was making supper my 4 year old daughter told me, “We need to make some dessert because we are out of candy.”
I agreed and whipped up a chocolate pudding pie while she was out of the room.
As she was inhaling the pudding pie later she said, “Mommy, did you make this? It’s delicious!”
That’s me. Gourmet with a box and a pre-made crust.

My mom used to make those pudding pies with Nilla Wafers and tell us that she worked ALL day to make it!!

I’ve sooooo been there. I just love it when they adore something you’ve made on the fly and really takes no skill or effort…. and then they won’t even try that fancy and expensive dish you’ve been slaving over for hours.
