Bath Confession

I have a childhood secret that sometimes weighs heavy on my mind.  It wouldn’t surprise me if my mom already knows this.  If she didn’t she will now.  Are you ready to hear my dreadful secret?

Occasionally, when I was little, I only pretended to take a bath.  It’s true.  I was horrid – and dirty.  I ran the water, wet the washcloth, and splashed a little.  I even went so far as to get undressed in case someone had to use the bathroom and I had to jump in the tub.

I feel better now having that off my chest.  I don’t want you to think that I do that anymore.  I eagerly anticipate the rare bubble bath I can get.  I have showered every day possible.  Honest!

My children’s baths get checked on frequently, and so far only my son has tried to avoid being washed.  Have you ever caught your children doing something like this?  Have you ever done anything like that?

Oh yes, my kids are forever trying to get out of taking a shower. Only instead of running bath water they run the shower forever. They haven’t wised up yet about a wash cloth and towel. The worst with them is brushing their teeth. Why it is such a chore to brush is beyond me. They will down right lie about it. My husband used to wet his toothbrush so his mom would think he brushed. I guess he is reaping what he sowed now!

Mine have done that with the toothbrushes!

I used to pretend to eat my calcium vitamins, and bury them in my drawers or at the bottom of the trash can!

The trash can sounds like a better choice ’cause you’d have to clean out the drawers later.

I faked tooth-brushing as a kid. Would run the water, wet the brush, even dab a little toothpaste on my tongue. Not sure why it was SUCH a big deal to just go ahead and brush!

LOL It’s like we will go out of our way avoiding something that’s not that hard.

Confession is good for the soul. :) So funny. Makes me wonder if my boys have figured this out. I may need to do “bath checks”. :)

Check the toothbrushing also! Seems like that gets skipped a lot too.
