Sunday Poem ~ As Day Begins!

Sunrise from Portland Head Light by William Neill

The night is waning, Savior mine,
Another day begins;
Oh would that I, this very day,
A soul to Thee might win!

Oh would that I, this very day,
Enrich another’s life;
That those now shrouded in despair
Be brought to Thee, dear Christ!

Oh would that I, this bright new day
Might touch another’s heart;
That I might share Thy light with one
Now struggling in the dark!

For what is life without Thee Lord
But just an empty sham;
And how can we observe our way
Without Thy strengthening hand?

For Savior, tho’ I older grow
Oh may I not despair;
But rather, may my heart rejoice
Because I’ve loved and shared!

    I like the last stanza a lot. It’s cool to be able to look back with thankfulness instead of regret.
