Every night we try to read a Bible Story or work on verses with our children. The other night my husband was having them say verses from their ABC Memory Book. Whatever voice inflection he used they mimicked exactly. I don’t even know if he realized they were doing it, but I could hear it clearly as I sat a couple feet away.
It was so precious and just made my heart melt. It was an overheard everyday moment that I wanted to wrap up and keep forever. I unwrapped the ordinary and found the special to wrap up in my memories.

I love to watch my kids doing things like that when they don’t know I’m watching. It’s just so precious. We certainly have to grab and hold on to those memories because the kids won’t be little for very long.

That they won’t be little long is a blessing and a sadness, isn’t it.
This is so sweet. I’ve noticed mine do this as well. Its especially cute when they get the actual word wrong but the inflection right. Love it.

Hi Jendi! I know I commented here earlier. I was on a different computer so maybe it disappeared. I love this!

It had your comment in moderation. I was wondering why. Now I know!
It’s funny when they get to that “copycat” age, isn’t it? Sometimes it can be upsetting (like when I’m frustrated at something not working right and accidentally use the word “stupid” perhaps? lol), but more often than not, it’s sweet and brings a smile. I’m glad it did that for you, as well.

Yes, I’ve had to curb my use of the word stupid too. They hear EVERYTHING!
I LOVE LOVE it when they do that. Before our son could even really speak, he would mimic the inflection in our voices through certain books as he pointed at the pictures and grunted in the same tone we had spoken.
Too cute!

Aaaw. That would be out of this world adorable. Soon you’ll have another to mimic you.
