Last night was my son’s kindergarten graduation. I have such mixed feelings about it. Glad he did well and that we made it through the year. Sad that he’s already done with one year of school. Right now the gladness outweighs the sadness.
He obviously didn’t mind having school because this morning he said, “I’m ready to start first grade.” I laughed and said, “We are going to take a little break.”
In case there are some of you that don’t know how we school, we homeschool under an umbrella school through our church. We register with them and have curriculum approved by them, plus some other things that are a bit detailed for this post. This enables us to have ceremonies that totally stress me out.
When we practiced in the morning he did everything flawless. When we added people watching him at night it wasn’t flawless any more. I’m glad that a bunch of our friends said that he did well. He even got presents! That was a surprise to him.

Congrats! So far Kindergarten has always been each childs most challenging year in our house- Learning to sit still, learning to keep on task, learning to follow through until the task is done, learning to learn is hard sometimes. (My going into 3rd grade son still is challenged with these things. He probably be labled ADHD in a public school system and been told to take drugs. Thank goodness for homeschooling.

Congrats to grad (and mommy)!!! We just went thru the same thing!!! I can’t believe I have a first grader on my hands now! WOW Where did the time go Jendi!! It doesn’t seem like that long ago we were both pregnant together with them!! Enjoy!
