I met Courtney through Twitter by volunteering to contribute to Mom Giveaways, and I’m so glad I did. She has a Christian Entrepreneur Site and A Mom Speaks Blog, plus a couple other sites including a design business.

I remember as a little girl at church watching all the older kids get ready for church camp. They would all bring their bags and sleeping bags and outdoor toys to church so that everyone could leave right after service. There was always so much excitement in the church when it was camp time. I couldn’t wait until I was old enough to go.
The summer after I turned 7 it was finally my turn to go to camp. I was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to leave. I had such a good time at camp that I never wanted it to end. I wished it was longer than just a week. There were games, swimming, and a lot of new friends. It was just a lot of fun. It wasn’t until I turned 15 that I truly realized how special camp really is.
At the age of 15 I realized that church camp wasn’t all about fun and games but about getting closer to the Lord. It was the year that I got saved and my life completely changed. It was at church camp that I asked the Lord into my life and completely gave over my life to the Lord’s will. I can still remember exactly where I was when I was saved, the people around me, and what I was doing. I even remember the exact date – June 16, 1995. It is a day I will never forget and one I may have never have had if it had not been for church camp.
I attended camp every year from the ages of 7 to 18. When I got too old to go as a camper I started going as a counselor. I wish there was a church for adults. I would surely go. Church camp was and still is a magical place for me.
