Review of Pirate Hunter

Tom Morrisey’s book titled Pirate Hunter is a tale from the 18th century and the 21st century. The 18th century story deals graphically with slavery and the life of a pirate. The 21st century story deals with drug addiction, estrangement, and bluegrass. Quite a list of topics!

It is essentially 2 books that alternate between chapters. I don’t even know which one is the prominent story. They are slightly connected, but more parallel in story line. I did like both stories even though I was not happy jumping back and forth. Maybe a part one/part two would be better. I also felt like the author just skimmed the surface of both stories; which was probably necessary to have them both in the same book. I was impressed with the amount of research done and facts presented. The author obviously has firsthand experience diving for shipwrecks. I will look for another book by this same author that just has one story because I enjoyed his writing style.
