It’s School Time

One-Room School Which Has Only 2 PupilsYou know the feeling when you hold your nose and step off the side of the pool dock?  I’ve got that feeling.  Today we are plunging into first grade.

It’s not all set up pretty and ready like it was last year.  I wasn’t up early with things laid out.  We’re starting anyways.  Last year I was physically ready, but emotionally scared.  This year I’m emotionally ready, but physically a mess!

I’ve got a calendar schedule and all the materials.  He’s got a desk and DVD setup ready.

Still I feel out of control and way behind.  He feels eager excitement and anticipation.

[deep breath] I choose to believe that it will be okay.

Remember that it is just 1st grade. You really can’t do anything wrong. He’s not going to be doing calculus or anything!

Thanks Cyndi! Guess you didn’t know that he’s a child prodigy and is completing calculus as I type. Kidding! You are right. :) My ComLuv Profile

Wow! Good for you. I have ALWAYS wanted to HS. I have gone back and forth on this subject for so long. We decided to send the kids to public school (which is across the street from our house) because I could not find anyone else in our area who HS. It is not even heard of around here really. It’s totally looked down upon and there is no support. I got a bit panicked thinking about doing it all alone with no co-op or support. Anyhow- blessings on you as you start this adventure of 1st grade. My oldest starts second grade in a couple weeks and I sure will miss him when he is at school!

Well, a deep breath is probably the best thing to start with, so at least you’ve got that covered! :) And, as you said, only 12 more grades to go — piece o’ cake. ;)

You’ll do great at it, I’m sure of it! *hugs*

You can do it! We’ve not started yet – one more week of summer – but I have those same feelings as you. Anxious, not ready, but excited too. :)
