Met a Friend In the Grocery Store

Front seat driverHave you ever grocery shopped with a stranger?  You and they enter at close to the same time and you end up in the same aisles through most of your trip?  A couple years ago I would have ignored the other person and just kept shopping, or skipped an aisle and doubled back to get out of sync.  Not so anymore.

These past two years I feel like I have grown.  Whatever the reason, I now smile and usually comment something to the other person.  Yesterday I met a very nice lady by doing just that.  I commented to at least 5 people, but she was the one that shopped parallel with me the whole store.

It started because her little boy was trying to push the cart and doing exactly what my little boy would have been doing.  She was slightly jealous because I managed to have my husband watch the kids, but she had her two with her. We knew exactly what the other one felt because we’ve been in the other’s shoes.

Sadly, I don’t know her name, and she’s only on Facebook, not Twitter. I did give her my card with this site address on it. So, nice lady from the grocery store – if you’re reading this – what’s your name?
