No More Stinky Towels

This giveaway is closed.  Random.org picked number 4. Congrats to Sondra!

When you see a product with the title of Smelly Washer Cleaner you immediately know what it is for.  It did a fine job on my washer, and a good job on my towels.

Here’s a video of me talking about my stinky towels.  Why am I telling this to the world?  Oh, that’s right, they’re not stinky anymore.

  1. Jendi, this is a great review because we are struggling with our towels smelling bad. Our laundry room is right off of the master bath and in the room there is no ventilation other than a window that we can’t open all the time.
We have almost decided that it was the washer because we know the towels didn’t sit wet to spoil.
I would love to try this product before we throw out all our towel ( and washer) .
    Thanks!

Well, I think both my washer and towels stink…. which is worse?? Uuummmm….. I would have to say my towels! I would love to try it!!! :-) Pick me, pick me!!

I’m going to say my towels need it more. I’ve tried to be better about leaving the lid open to my washer when I’m not using it.

  4. Sondra says:

I think it is my washer!! I have a fairly new one (1 yr) – top loader with glass lid…and it STINKS so bad. I have tried everything….vinegar, bleach…it still stinks!! Sometimes it almost gags me when I open the lid.

I have to say that my washer is the stinky problem here. It’s a front loader and I love it but I have to remember to leave the door opened when I’m not using it or it stinks. I’m in desperate need of something that will get rid of the smell.

  9. Kaye says:

I can get it out of my towels using vinegar, but I’m with Terri and I forget to leave the door open on my front loader too ofter and guess what…stinky washer. It’s hard to get the smell out of the towels if the washer smells bad!

I’m so glad I found this site. I saw Smelly Washer cleaner highlighted in a magazine I read and I ripped out the article to find it online. Guess what? I lost the article. And then I stumbled here! My front loader really needs it. For the first year that we had it I never left the door open as I’ve learned that I should have. The result? Ultra Smelly Washer – do they have an Ultra Smelly Washer Cleaner? ‘Cause I’ll take that one, too!

I think both my washer and towels really stink, but I really think my washer is in a more desperate state. I have thought about just going out and buying new towels because I had no idea that there might be a better solution out there. I would like to try!

  12. Wendy says:

I’m starting to think it must be the washer because I DID go buy new towels, and guess what? Yep, they STINK!! Ugh!

I would love to try the Smelly Washer Cleaner. The only towels in our house that don’t end up smelly are the white ones and I think that has to do with the fact that my husband uses bleach on them. All of the colored towels are smelly regardless of whether they just came out of the dryer freshly laundered or not.

This is my first visit to your blog and I like what I see. Keep it up!

Hey, Jendi. Do you have an answer to smelly sheets? I thought it was because I bought cheap sheets, so I purchased more expensive, higher thread count ones. And still – an AWEFUL smell. I moved them to a different dresser, then I washed and stored them under the bed in a drawer- it doesn’t seem to matter, they STINK. And I can’t believe they aren’t getting dry in the dryer – because, well, they’re SHEETS. And they definitely feel bone dry! Oh – and the other set of sheets – does NOT smell. Doesn’t that just make you go, huh?

:) I may have to try this! thanks for the review

I am on my 2nd front loader and I have the same problem as the 1st.
I drain the hose every wash and the mold comes away.I leave nthe door open all the time as well! I never have smelly clothes or towels it is just the washer
that smells !! I also hang out my washing.
Why don’t the manufacturers address this problem?????
