This has been bothering me for a while and I finally need to just say type it.
I don’t want to subscribe to comments! I don’t want to opt-in to anything. I don’t want to have another profile/password. I don’t want another email in my inbox telling me that I need to confirm my subscription that I didn’t want in the first place. I don’t want to click through 3 things to comment. I don’t want to comment as a guest because I didn’t opt-in.
I just want to leave a simple comment and go on my way.
I’m done now. Thankyouverymuch.
Do you know what I’m talking about? Does anybody else feel this way? Do any of you opt-in for comments or subscribe to the rest of the comments? Do you like it?
Maybe I’m the only one that doesn’t like it and maybe I should have it here on this blog. Tell me what you think!

I feel the same way. I don’t want to have to jump through hoops just to leave a simple comment. If there is too much to do, I won’t leave a comment, I’ll just leave the blog.
Oh I so agree!! So many times I just don’t comment. I will not opt-in because like you I don’t want anymore emails in my inbox! I hate having to sign up for something just to look at it or ‘comment’ on it!! No, you are not the only one!!

I am with you. I don’t understand why it has to be so hard to leave a simple comment. I will also leave a blog that becomes too high maintenance!

the only subscribe thing I like is when I simply click on the button to get follow up emails, because if the author answers me, i wanna know about it! (unfortunately Im just not that faithful at following people daily – i’m more of a weekly/monthly type of reader – you hate me, don’t you? )

Ok – you’ve got to be kidding me – you have a box for ’subscribing’ below! ROTFL ( i suppose you meant the dbl-opt-in-become-a-member- AGAIN subscription options… As if!)
I think your akismet has done a great job in filtering spam. So non-spam should be allowed to voice out their comments.
I also never opt in. Also some people have it where you enter the comment the page reloads then it makes you enter the captcha code (random string of letters) then you REENTER it then it reloads with your comment having been posted (after being moderated sometimes, why have the captcha and moderation?). Its very time consuming and frustrating to comment in that situation.
