The Night After Christmas

And all through the house there’s still no one stirring.  We’re a lazy house.

And oh boy does it feel nice!  I can’t remember the last time I’ve had such a lazy day when I wasn’t sick.  I ran the washer and dryer, and plan to run the vacuum later, but that’s about it.  We’re eating leftovers off of paper plates and letting the kids sit with their new electronic toys.

The kids got some new games for Christmas and we actually all sat around the table and played games together.  That’s been a dream of mine for a long time.  We’ve tried before, but it’s usually ended up more frustrating then it’s worth.  Now that the older 2 can read and count it’s so-o much easier!

Even my Christmas day was easy.  I sat and read a book while my husband made stuffed shells in his Mom’s kitchen.  The best part of him cooking in his Mom’s kitchen is that she does the majority of clean-up. :)  Beef summer sausage, cheese, and Triscuits for supper.  Yum!

I even caught up with 90% of the blogs in my reader.  Now you know I’ve had extra time.

How’s your day after Christmas?  How was your Christmas day?

Christmas day was pretty fun overall. Joseph, his parents, and I got to go see Sherlock Holmes in the evening; I received everything I asked for (his parents require a Christmas list) and more!; and the food was incredible!

The day after was just as fun. Joseph took me on a date to see Avatar and then I got to spend some time with Titus’ fiancee Shayla when we got back. Soooo much fun!

Yeah, I used to enjoy the whole month of December, but the last few years, I’ve definitley drowned in holiday stress despite trying to simplify. This year, I was thinking maybe I should celebrate the traditional twelve days of Christmas starting with Christmas day, because that’s when I finally felt like I started enjoying it. Movies on the Hallmark channel website, leftover Christmas dinner that only requires reheating, mmhmm, after Christmas is better. :^)
