Natural Is Good

I’m going to admit right up front that I’m not into all the “save the environment” stuff. I  do some things that fit under the category of going green, but those things are either better for my family or they save us money. Those are two things that I’m definitely into!

I do prefer natural products. I’ve used some natural cleaning products and prefer produce from local farms. Daily vitamins are used – well – daily here, and vitamin C is used during cold season. When given a choice I’ll pick the natural. Chocolate is natural, right? If not that blows the whole picking natural because I’m going for the chocolate!

I’m getting more and more leery of chemicals and processed foods. It is interesting that I didn’t think of those things at all before having kids. Dear man-o-mine I love you, but your eating habits were already set by the time you married me. Having 3 kids and no insurance gives me so much more incentive to keep my munchkins healthy.

Soap and washing away germs is a major way to stay healthy. Seed Power Body Care has a natural soap, shampoo, and lotion made from grape seed oil. Natural soap and natural water combining to keep my munchkins naturally healthy. Sounds like a winner, right?

I’m telling you about them in hopes of being a winner. They are holding a contest to help bloggers get to BlogHer10 and this is an entry. This post is linked to the contest at Hip As I Wanna Be.

Do you use any natural products? Would you like to?

I do with most things :) I get those products from the body shop. I am not sure if that store is in the states as well. I have my day cream from there and hair products and facial masks. Stuff like that. It is my skin we are talking about here and I don’t want all that chemical stuff on my skin. Also I never use make up that is tested on animals.

Honestly, if natural products were cheaper I would use them more. I find that I sometimes question the word natural? What are the actual qualifications that will make this natural and who is setting this standard? Is this monitored in any way by the government or the health board? It just raises so many more questions for me!

Hope you get to BlogHer10 & get to eat some cheeseburgers!
