I found another keeper. On The Road Home by Terry Burns is a fun read! It’s a collection of short stories and poems that I could see my husband enjoying as well as me. It has a bit of autobiographical, fiction, western, love poems, humor, and more all based on spiritual themes. I signed up for this review because I liked his fiction book that I read titled Saint’s Roost. Then when he mentioned that he was inspired by O’Henry I really wanted to read it. Any other O’Henry fans out there?
I have to say something about the prologue. Terry Burns, who is also a book agent, wrote his top 10 reasons to write short works. They really apply to blogging and online writing. He also challenged me with how “he never wastes words.”

Thanks for the review. I was pleased that someone thought enough of my short work to want to do a collection of it. The set contains new work, particularly the novella in the back of each book and much of the short work, but also contains work that has been published in a wide variety of venues. I’m very pleased that Port Yonder wanted me to do it. As expected there is a lot from my love of things western, but what may not be expected is a variety of other material, a look at the ‘other sides of Terry Burns.’
