I resisted blogging for six months after I thought it would be neat. I had been reading blogs for awhile and I really wanted to be part of that community. My blog’s purpose was to be a writing outlet, a place all my own, a way to make friends, and a record of my life – just in case I ever decided to write an autobiographical series that would rival Little House on the Prairie.
Once I heard rumors of making money online I was hooked! Still I blogged for a year without attempting to make any money or get any products. In that year I had fun, I learned, I connected, I recorded my life. Then I decided I needed to make money or get something out of it and it became hard. Occasionally, it became a burden. I tried to write to get attention, please others, and get noticed. I worried about stats and brands and doing everything just so. The worry sucked the fun out of it.
Then I found a niche that I love and started a separate site. Then it made sense why the blog advisors say, “Write about your passion.” I now think of my niche site as my business. I do sell videos for money. I do write for other sites for pay or ad revenue – often on the topic of video blogging. It is not going to make me a millionaire, but it is something to sell. Something to promote that is not as personal as my journal. So this site is just my home online once again.
I will still use some affiliate links, do book reviews ['cause I luv free books!], occasional other reviews, and maybe even some giveaways, but mostly Jendi’s Journal will be a writing outlet, a place all my own, a way to make friends, and a record of my life.
Thanks for stopping by!

Hey Jendi,
Just want to point out that I’m still reading you. I prefer not to blog for money but just to share my life with friends, family and others who have the same interests. I’m slowly figuring out vlogging. Baby steps for this non-techy.
