Our First Build A Bear

For our youngest’s fourth birthday we went to Build-a-Bear. Let me say right up front that it’s expensive! I already knew that from walking through before and would not have gone if I didn’t have gift cards. Some of you might be asking, “How expensive is expensive?” Granted, I am a thrift store/yard sale shopper [my kids get stuffed animals thrust upon them at yard sales- for free]; but $43.00 for a bear seems a bit much. Basically you are paying for the experience, and it definitely is a fun experience.

We could have saved some by not buying the underwear, but my daughter has a pair that matches the bear’s so, ya know, I just had to show her. What I would take back is the shoes. Again, adorable; but they have not stayed on the bear since she left the store. Come to think of it that matches my daughter too.

Here’s our experience in video:

Build-a-bear is so much fun!! I actually built one for myself when I graduated from college and was on vacation with my mom and dad! :) ‘J’ got one for his last birthday from Mimi and Aunt O and I greatly dislike the shoes – they keep falling off and ‘J’ looses them all the time and then fusses that he can’t find ‘Army’s’ shoes!! OY!!
