Since I Don’t Have A Blogroll

I’ve realized in the last couple weeks that I’ve not been linking as well as I should.

In case you don’t blog or don’t know what I’m talking about: It’s basic blogging etiquette to link and share some love via link juice. Google ranks sites with more incoming links higher than sites without links. Also, the more popular the site is that links to you the better it is for you. So, bloggers link to other pertinent sites in the hopes of getting noticed and possibly a return link. Bloggers can see incoming links in stat counters/services like Google Analytics.

Instead of linking to specific posts I’m going to go through my RSS feeder and tell you about a couple of my favorite sites each week.

These two blogs are similar. I’ve read each of them since 2006. Not many stay in my reader that long.

These Christian ladies are not out to become famous or make lots of money online. From what I see they blog to keep record, to connect with family/friends, and for the pure joy of it. Without further ado I’m pleased to introduce:

Abbi who writes Dear Abbi

I’m in love with my husband of eleven years, I educate our three children at home, I like reading, shopping, fluffing pillows, and tackling projects that can be completed in one day. The LORD has blessed me abundantly!

and Arlene who writes Ever Joyful

I am a sinner, saved by God’s grace – independent, fundamental, KJV Bible believing baptist – striving to serve my Saviour with an ever joyful spirit. I’m married to my handsome airman and am loving life as a wife and mama! The Lord has richly blessed us.

If you have a favorite blog I should check out please leave the link in the comments!

Aww, thanks, Jendi! I’m such a bad blogger! And to think it’s been since at least 2006 that I’ve changed my background… :) Thanks for being so sweet!!

Oh sweetie, I couldn’t possibly tell you all of my favorites! My blog roll is admittedly too long. Well, not too long for my reader pleasure, but for sharing!

You can find them on my Riding Bicycles blog (on the sidebar) – these are more bloggy “friends” than sites for fun or education, my frugality/pf blogroll (http://sites.google.com/site/mrsnespy/blogsiread) which really needs to be updated, my faith-based blogroll on my Silencing the Stones blog and then some others in my reader.

    Yeah…excessive I know.

For fun though (the ones you might not find on those lists) I would say 1000 Awesome Things, Improv Everywhere, Not Always Right, Passive Aggressive Notes (not always great language, but usually quite funny), Stuff Christians Like, Tyler Stanton

Well, I’ll just stop there. I told you, there are way too many for suggesting!

Thanks Kaye! I knew you were active in several niches. That always fills up a reader faster too.
I follow Improv Everywhere – loved that line on the sidewalk. LOL Tourists vs NewYorkers.

It amazes me how often people fall for what they do! I would love to be on the subway for one of their underwear rides. Not that I want to see everyone in their underwear, but I just think it would be a great story to take home and tell.
