Today is my homeschool in-service day. My children will start their classes tomorrow. We made all the heavy decisions in the spring and I just need to do some sprucing and sorting. My munchkins are super excited, and I’m…a little excited. A bit sad that summer is coming to an end, but a bit glad that we’ll be back to our stricter daily schedule.
This is my third year of homeschooling my children and I’m definitely not as stressed this year. I’m just realizing now that I didn’t post about my daughter’s graduation. She did a great job with only half as much practice as my son had. So I have one first grader and one second grader this year.
How are your school preparations coming? Do you have to buy supplies and/or clothes? Will you be sending them off to school and finally getting a couple hours to yourself? Are you panicking because your homeschool materials didn’t arrive yet?
Talk to me please!

Our Homeschooling stuff arrived the other day.. the kids are excited and I am SCARED TO DEATH!!! Mostly because I am nervous that we may have to be moving AND starting our first year of homeschooling at the same time!! I am praying that closing gets moved even a couple days so we can at least get moved enough to start school at the new house!!! I will be doing my 3 oldest so I will have one in K4, Kindergarten and 1st grade! I just keep reminding myself that we feel the Lord leading us to homeschool so He will be with me every step of the way and it will all work out just as He wants it to!!
Hang in there and have faith. [snicker, sorry. I just couldn't resist.] For me, I was really stressed the first year. I still get a bit stressed, but not as much as the first year.
I’ll pray for you too!
I have just decided to homeschool my son. He is still a little young for a formal curriculum, but I’m learning a lot and taking some classes, and I’m even joining some homeschool groups here in my state. Hopefully, I’ll learn more when I move to Atlanta…

Congrats on your decision! You are way ahead of the game. I’m sure you will do a great job.
I was panicking a little over how to do 4th, 2nd and K5, but once I finally figured out the curriculum that was half the battle. Then yesterday, the day before school, I decided to make up my own entire SC state history curriculum. I’m crazy like that. So I didn’t sleep last night, but we’re off and I think I know which direction we’re going, lol.

You are crazy like that! You seem to really enjoy homeschooling and finding just the right curriculum. Me, I like the curriculum that already all laid out and planned for me.
May God bless your school year!
I don’t homeschool but remember it fondly from my childhood. When it’s done right, it’s the best experience!

Hi Jendi! Loved meeting you at BlogHer10 NYC!
Too fun! We are into our third year of homeschooling as well. Great for everyone here. I have two 4th graders – the Tigers, my twin sons!
