It was easy for me to pick up and play a melodica because I read piano music very easily. I first played one in 2006 and got my own shortly after that. It is a fun, portable instrument. The main down side is that it is untunable; that’s also why I don’t usually play chords on it.
I found great words [by John Peterson] to this song – instead of “Give me oil in my lamp” – and my children & their friends sing it in nursing homes. It’s so fun to have everyone join with them on the chorus.
