Each time I meet Lisa Jo I like her a little more. Plus, this time I realized that she says “can’t” just like Professor Higgins taught Eliza. Next time I should ask her about the rain in Spain. The most recent time I saw Lisa Jo was at the Relevant Conference. She told the whole session about her 5 minute Friday that is used as a writing prompt and to kickstart creative writing juices. I thought, “That’s neat, but I’m not really a wordweaver. I love video and just casual blogging about my life.”
However, that 5 minute idea implanted itself into my brain and popped up at the oddest times. While I was loading the laundry I thought of something I could write about for 5 min. Then again, while I was loading the dishes, cooking supper, taking care of the dog, helping the kids. For days, tons of ideas for blog posts have been popping into my thoughts – all because Lisa Jo said, “Just sit down and write for 5 minutes. Maybe you’ll write 2 sentences and maybe you’ll write a lot; but just set your timer and go for it. Then link up at my site, and make sure to visit the person that linked up before you.”
So here I am. Typing fast as my fingers endeavor to keep up with my thoughts. I’ve already had to ignore the kids questions twice. Yes, it’s hard to get even 5 minutes to myself in the morning. But I’m going to do it! And if the ideas pop up continually through the next week. I’ll be back for 5 minutes next Friday. Writing away even though I’m not a writer.

Her prompt for this week is the word “Remember.” I wrote about how I couldn’t forget!

Welcome…I am very new at this blogging thing…I am a non-writer in a very writing world. I just jumped in and give this a whirl…every friday I think…noooo. But I find myself back here…In some ways this may be easier for a non-writer…I don’t have great editing skills anyway…
Keep jumping in…I think you will grow to really love it…
Blessing as you step out…
