I went without chocolate for 2 days. That’s a big deal for me! It was especially trying the day that we could smell chocolate in the air as it drifted from Hershey. I haven’t gone without chocolate that long since 8 years ago when I was pregnant and the midwife told me to. I lasted for 2 days then as well. Guess that’s my limit.
This week I could have eaten the semi-sweet chips in the cupboard, but I thought of making fudge with them and held off. Oh the restraint I exercised! This wasn’t just hard on me. By day three my husband was saying, “You really do need some chocolate.” It wasn’t as mean as it sounds when I type it; besides – I totally agreed.
Speaking of chocolate…If you ever need an idea for a present for me and you don’t have cash or an extra iPad feel free to send chocolate. I eat just about any kind -except white. I’m totally prejudiced against white chocolate. My brother-in-law loves white chocolate. I pray for my sister often.
I wish that there were more boxes of chocolates for sale around Christmas time. I love getting boxes of chocolate for Valentine’s Day. I’m pretty good at figuring out what is in each chocolate piece; and I never stick my finger in the bottom and put it back. In fact, I eat the ones that my husband has poked a hole in the bottom of. Did you know that candy makers used to have a “code” for chocolates? The design on the top of each piece would indicate what was inside the chocolate.
What’s your favorite kind of chocolate? In the past couple years I’ve started to prefer chocolate with nuts in it. That’s probably because I’m trying to be more health conscious and the nuts make it healthier. [cough, cough] Peanuts are good. Almonds
are good. Hazelnuts
are really good.
So do you prefer nuts?
[The Amazon links are my affiliate links. Which means - if you buy chocolate from those links they send me a small commission - and I do mean small. But thank you if you do buy anything from Amazon while you are there. I might even get enough to buy a candy bar - chocolate, of course!]

I have really started to eat more chocolate with almonds!! I once went a whole volleyball season. Coach wanted us all to give up something together… we didn’t realize how hard it was going to be till after we decided. Best part of all was after we won the State Championship the boys soccer team had bought each of us a bunch of our favorite chocolate!! Oh the joy of that day!!! LOL
I remember that story – and you are my hero for making it through! That would have been a really hard choice for me. Championship or chocolate?
Brian said to tell you that you’re a saint. He’s already said that, but it was sealed in his mind when you said hazelnut. I like my chocolate without nuts. He bought me a box of Cella’s (a dozen chocolate covered cherries) a couple of days ago – he seriously keeps asking me if I ate them all, well…yes! Guess what? He just walked in with a refill box. We have good husbands, you and I. I think we should keep them.

We do have good husbands! Mine is keeping me stocked with Reece’s PB trees. And I don’t share them with the kids.
