I promise not to keep posting pictures of the lovebird every week, but he is so cute to take pictures of!
At first he wasn’t sure about us, and decided to view us from the chandelier.
Then he decided to get a little closer.
He got so comfortable with us that he decided to take a bath.
They look really bedraggled when they are wet, don’t they?
P.S. We named him Vivace. Thanks Alicia! You were the first of a couple people that suggested it. Since it’s Italian for lively and vivid it fits well.
P.P.S. I posted pictures for the dry lovebird last week, and he sat on my shoulder for the Monday Mingle.

I’ve never really been a bird person, but your pictures could just change that!
Happy WW to you!

So does he poop everywhere? I’ve been thinking about getting a bird, I’ve had my eye on a lorakeet, but I wondered how much of a mess they made and how much cleaning up after they require.

I wouldn’t say everywhere, but he does poop every time we have him out. The kids used to laugh hilariously every time. The bigger the bird – the bigger the mess. It does wipe up fairly easy, and the lady that runs the bird rescue told us that bird poop doesn’t have any bacteria in it so it doesn’t smell as bad as other animals.
If you want to interact with the bird definitely get a hand tamed one – it will save you lots of time taming it! If you can’t get one in your area I have some contacts here.
