Space Dogs | Movie Review

If it’s animated my kids will watch it. That doesn’t mean the DVD is good – just that they will watch it. We sat down together and watched Space Dogs.

SYNOPSIS: The exciting, animated tale based on the true story of Belka and Strelka; two Russian dogs sent to space in 1960. A circus dog and a stray dog embark on an out-of-this-world adventure to become the world’s most famous canine cosmonauts!

My first question was, “Why did it need a flashback?” The main story would have been just fine. I also thought it was a bit slow, but the kids didn’t mind. We did chuckle now and then; it’s more a story than a comedy. The one space dog should have done what she was supposed to instead of veering off course, but then there wouldn’t have been much of a movie. There’s a really cheesy “love” part that I could have done without. The colors are bright and fun, and my children enjoyed the dogs.

This movie was sent to me by Phase 4 Films but all opinions are my own. I do not endorse all movies that they produce; use your discretion. I did add my affiliate link.
