It’s rare that I use other people’s pictures for Wordless Wednesday, but I love these and had to share.
Grace For The Good Girl By Emily P. Freeman | Book Review
I’m breaking a bunch of personal rules by writing this review, and I find that oddly coincidental. I wasn’t going to read it. I was extremely happy for Emily that she got the book contract, persevered through writing it, and actually had a published book; but I wasn’t going to read it. What were my reasons?
- She doesn’t use the same Bible version as I do.
- She talked about masks and feeling inadequate, and I didn’t need that – did I?
- I don’t try awfully hard – do I?
- It just isn’t my type of book – non-fiction AND religious.

This week’s questions:
- If your family was a reality show, what would it be called?
- Were you in Girl Scouts, Brownies, etc.?
- On a scale of 1 to 10, how well do you like your first name (10 best, 1 least)
Pitchers For the Lamps of God | Sunday Poem
A lamp once hung in an ancient town
At the corner of a street,
There the wind was keen, and the way was dark,
And the rain would often beat.
And all night long its light would shine
To guide the travelers’ feet.
The lamp was rough and plain and old,
And the storm had beaten it sore;
‘Twas not a thing one would care to show,
Whate’er it had been before,
But no one thought what the lantern was,
‘Twas the light that within it bore.
The lamp is a text for young and old,
Who seek, in a world of pride,
To shine for their Lord and to show Him forth
And never their light to hide.
You are the lantern, a thing of naught,
But Christ is the Light inside.

Delight From The Lord
I delight in my house. Windows! Closets! Two bathrooms! Hard wood floors! A garage – that we actually park in! A mostly finished basement. Half painted walls. Kitchen wall splash 1/3 done. Shelves needed. The kids bathroom could really use a remodel. If I sit for 10 minutes I can make a long list of things that need done. But I still love the house. I take delight in living there.
Can the Lord do that with my life? Does He delight in what I have done, but know that there is so much more I can do?
