A Love Forbidden by Kathleen Morgan | Book Review

I found A Love Forbidden (Heart of the Rockies 2) to be an enjoyable read.  I wasn’t sure of it at first, but the forbidding is not done by her family – it’s done by society in general. I think Kathleen Morgan did a great job of portraying the Indian’s and the White Man’s point of view. She portrays the time era well without crossing the line to things I’d rather not read about.

Shiloh, the heroine, stays strong in her faith throughout the story, and grows in maturity. Jesse, the hero, struggles to decide until the climax; which ends as expected. The supporting characters have small roles, but enough to complete the story. It’s a fairly predictable plot, but had enough differences to keep my interest. I have not read the first book in this series, but did not feel like I was missing anything. It did intrigue me enough that I will pick up the first book if I see it.

L’Occitane Prevents Dry Skin On Face

More specifically, the Angelica Instant Hydration Mask prevents dry skin on face. I enjoy using it because it is easy to use and makes my face feel refreshed.

I don’t use the exfoliator every day – just a couple days a week, but I can use the mask everyday. The good thing is that once I have a dab of it on my hand I can apply it to my face wherever I am. There’s a bit of smell, but I like it and it fades quickly so it hasn’t bugged me yet.

Here’s my video that explains a bit more:

Real Food – Starting My Journey

real {fast} foodI was interested in Trina’s book over a year ago when she first approached me to help her edit the video about her ebook Real Fast Food. I was also a bit intimidated, and busy with only a small kitchenette and apartment size refrigerator. I did not cherish kitchen time one bit!

Now I’ve started buying from a local farm and making little changes to rid my house of chemicals. I have a new-to-me kitchen with brand new counters and a regular size fridge – even if my oven is still small. I’ve eliminated all non-stick pans due to having pet birds and not wanting to poison them with the toxins put off by the non-stick. [Which also brings to mind the question, "If the fumes from non-stick will hurt the bird's lungs, what is it doing to mine?"]

The time is right for me to get Trina’s book. She is doing a “book tour” via blog posts and agreed to send me one as a review copy. Yay! Even so, the link sat in my email for about a month. Her whole concept is to simplify the process of eating healthier, closer to how God made them foods even as a busy mom of little ones – and without a large grocery budget. Why is it so intimidating to me? Can she help me replace the quick frozen pizza meals with something else that we like? [Read more...]
