National Lips Day With Larry The Cucumber

March 16 is supposed to be National Lips Day or Lips Appreciation Day. It’s not lipstick day or kissing day; just lips day. This video is the first thing I thought of when I learned about this day. I know its for kids, but it always makes me smile and is so appropriate for National Lips Day.

Here’s Larry singing “I love my lips.”

How To Make A Wreath With Fabric Scraps

My kids and I really enjoyed making some wreaths and giving them away as Christmas presents. You can make these three wreaths with fabric and a minimum of other supplies. You could customize these for any holiday or event by changing the type or color of the fabric. If you are an active crafter you probably already have enough scraps to make these wreaths.

Love In A Bag Of Pretzels

Christmas tree

No greater love than Jesus!

My mother-in-law has given out plates of Christmas cookies for years and years. I like the idea [and eating the cookies], but didn’t have the area for cookie making. Plus, my children were 2, 4, & 6 years old and just didn’t leave me much time for cookie making. Crocheting and sewing were out as well. My husband said he would help me melt chocolate on pretzels. So now we give out bags of pretzels topped with chocolate and M&Ms to a bunch of our friends and family for Christmas.

I never really understood why my mom-in-law made all those homemade cookies year after year until I started being able to hand out my own goodies each year. It’s fun! It’s a way to say we appreciate you and are so glad you are a part of our lives. We can’t buy everyone a fancy present, but we want to show our love for them. Handing them a tangible gift feels like an expression of love and Christmas is a great time to do that!

On top of that, being able to browse and spend time together without the children was a big part of the pleasure of the gift.
