My husband can drive just about anything. He hasn’t learned how to fly a plane yet so I say just about. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he learns how to some time in the future.
When he was little he “drove” his big wheel. I had one of those too. Weren’t they great fun! My husband drove his big wheel down a full flight of stairs. On purpose. In a couple more years he was “driving” his bicycle all over. Then he moved on to lawn tractors. By the age of 12 he was driving a little Datsun that had 4 on the floor. Not on the road, of course; he drove through fields. At the age of 16 he breezed through getting his driver’s license in a huge old cadillac that he still likens to a boat. His first full size pickup was 3 on the column.
While we were expecting our first child he supplemented our income by getting his CDL and driving a school bus. That was after the job at the truck loading place didn’t work out. Bad hours, but he learned a lot about driving a fork lift.
A few years later he had a job at a company that fixed, sold, and rented construction equipment. He had a title and an office, but it was also his job to drive and operate the rollback truck. At that same company he kept inventory of the yard and learned the basics of driving everything from a skid loader to a 60 ton dump truck.
Now he is learning to be a train engineer. Do you see why I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes flying lessons in the future?
He is even good at driving me crazy!
P.S. Due to threats of no payment for my domain name if I post his picture I have only included a picture of the Trans Am that he drove for our first date (with his sister and her husband). He had to sell it due to needing money to get married.
See honey, I didn’t even mention that I never got a chance to drive it!
