On Saturday my husband let me go shopping by myself to restore some of my sanity. Bless him.
I went to the Goodwill store and dug through shelves and shelves of Christmas decorations. I managed to get some presents for a good price too.
Towards the end of my browsing a group of three ladies came in.
Soon the older lady was bothered by the heat of the store and complained in a voice loud enough for the whole store to hear.
The heat didn’t bother me. Her complaint didn’t bother me. Her using the Lord’s name in vain with her complaint did bother me.
The very next loud sentence she uttered was directed to one of the younger ladies with her, “Did you find a baby Jesus?”
About five minutes later she swore again as she complained about the store temperature.
If Jesus was her friend, her Lord & Saviour, would she have used His holy name like she did?
My heart was aching as I prayed, “Lord, please help me to never see you as only a decoration.”
